Hi
I just took the GMAT on sat and my score is much lower than I expected, a 480. I Took the Kaplan class and continued my studying using beatthegmat.com. Most of my other practice test scores were in the mid 500's. Obviously Im not happy with my score. Stacey should I take it again? I am trying to get into Baruch or Fordam, preferably Baruch. I am 29 yeas old and have 8 years experience at my present job as a TV Director. Prior to that I managed a photography studio for 2 years. What should I do next? take the Gmat again? Just send in my applications explaining Im not the greatest test taker and hope that my application, essays and work experience will get me in?

You definitely would benefit from a higher score. However, you need to evaluate whether you believe a higher score is obtainable. If not, you are better off "cutting your losses" and focusing your energy elsewhere - such as work, extracurriculars or taking an outside course. Only you can judge whether you feel you have hit your personal best.
