Even though more money was removed out of stock fund in July /as in any month since October 1987, sales of fund shares in July were not as low as /an industry trade group had previously estimated.

There are two problem I can see in option d

1. than in any month but you have exclude july so should be any other month
2. Comparision : as low as noun (what) an ...........

D - comparing sales to industry trade group
E - use of what refers back to sales therefore you are comparing sales to sales
