Help needed - Purdue program

by gupta » Wed Jan 20, 2010 10:46 am
Hi All,

I am applying to Purdue university round 2.
I wanted to apply for MBA in human resourse management. But I see that they have a separate full time program called MSHRM for human resourse. I wanted to go for an MBA and I am not sure about an MS program.

Can you please advice me whether I should go for this program or should I go with some other stream in MBA.

Your help is much appreciated.

Thanks
Gupta

Hello, Gupta,

The answer to your question really depends on your goals, and which option at Purdue best addresses those goals, both in terms of curriculum and recruiting. I note that Purdue's regular MBA also has an option for a concentration in human resource management. I suggest evaluating the recruiting at both programs both for internships and post-MBA positions. Talk to current MBA students and/or alumni who've taken the HR concentration, and also students/alumni from the MSHRM program. Doing so will allow you to see the longer term career trajectories for both options.

At least, Purdue offers a wealth of options for your area of interest!
