Help Needed in these Sentences!

I] There are two sentences in each of the questions, If the first one right then type A; if the next sentence is correct then type B and if both are wrong then type C:

1] No matter how much work it may require, getting an MBA turns out to be a wise investment for most people.

Even though it requires much work, getting an MBA turns out to be a wise investment for most people.

According to me the correct answer is C as both of them are wrong. the problem is the 'it'. I do not know what does it stand for. Getting an MBA cannot be the antecedent for the pronoun 'it'.

Therefore the correct answer is should be C but A is given...

2] She is the most dedicated gardener on the block, every day watering the more than 50 plants in her yard.

She is the most dedicated gardener on the block, every day watering more than the 50 plants in her yard.

The correct answer according to me should be a C as both the sentences are incorrect. The answer given is A. According to me it should be 'watering everyday' which properly modifies the pronoun 'she'.

Kindly help in the above 2 sentences.

Thank You.
