Help in developing study plan/deciding on materials

Hello all:

I stumbled across the website a cpl days ago. I am planning on taking the GMAT in September. While I have searched articles and the forum, i had a few questions on devising a study plan:

In terms of materials: I plan on using all 3 official guides, manhattan review books for verbal/math, and kaplan live...
Am i missing anything here that is crucial?

Also, would you suggest i merely work through the official guides to learn the material, or would i do concept review of some sort before trying problems?

Lastly, how would any of you suggest i use practice tests....

I was thinking that i would take one of the 2 gmatprep tests right of the bat to evaluate what areas I will need to emphasize, then take Manhattan and kaplan tests once a week, before taking the second gmatprep test close to when my actual appointment is.......thoughts?

Any other comments/suggestions are more than welcome.....I am shooting for a 700+

I guess you meant Manhattan GMAT books and not Manhattan Review books. Both are from different prep companies. I would strongly recommend Manhattan GMAT books (Not because Manhattan Review books are not good. I have not used those books and I'm not sure how good those are!)

To evaluate where you stand, taking 1 gmatprep test is more than sufficient. Don't bother taking both the tests at the start. Analyze your weaknesses and do conceptual study. Practice with OG's. Then start taking practice tests - I would recommend Manhattan GMAT and GMATPrep (Most important. Take 4-7 days before your appointment date)

In my experience, the MGMAT books along with the OG are all very helpful. Actually I had originally used the Veritas and Princeton Review books. These are good for tips and tricks to get to the right answer. However, MGMAT focuses more on topics and actually providing a good review of H.S. math instead of just tricks to answer the problem/question. Furthermore, the verbal part also provides a good breakdown of each section tested on the GMAT, such as SC, CR and RC. I would highly recommend these books.

I am selling all of the GMAT official guide 3rd ed. books (10 MGMAT guides, Official Guide 12th ed and the OG Quant and Verbal, Power Score CR Bible and Verbal Bible) for a really good price.
