Thanks Richard! I'm very lucky and fortunate to get good news early in this process. It's been a grueling year getting these apps ready and I'm happy to see that it was good time spent. I'm definitely going to be thinking about you and following your blog as you finish up your journey.

My question to you now is... what do you do post HBS acceptance? lol.. like if you're at work.. do you then just say "Hey Guys... I'm taking the rest of the day off" and go to the bar and celebrate?

Actually, I'm working from home today since I caught a cold after shoveling six feet of snow drift off my wife's car last night. I'll be celebrating with my close friends this weekend (need to buy some good champagne). I did get pretty excited last week when Kellogg called but that was later in the evening and my co-workers knew what was going on so they were happy for me.

So can you even concentrate for the rest of the day? I think i would be on their school store website ordering a bunch of HBS sweatshirts and hats and stuff. I'm intrigued by what goes on immediately POST acceptance. Hopefully I get to know what it feels like....

I can't buy gear until I make my final decision! Immediately after, I called my wife and quietly told her the good news. I was surprised how emotional I felt (sorta got choked up) since I didn't think I had a lot emotionally tied up with HBS. I think I've always been considered sort of an underachiever academically (at least through high school), so putting my name with Harvard seemed too crazy to be true. I then called my parents and I think they were more excited than I was. I'm glad I made them happy with the news. :)

Well Harvard is by far the strongest brand with the largest network, Kellogg is tops in brand management (what I hope to go into), and Booth is amazing at data driven marketing plus they offered me a very generous scholarship. It's always hard to say no to a school like HBS but I'm hoping admit weekend will clear things up once I meet my potential classmates.

Hi, all. I applied R2 right before the deadline (Jan. 14 or so). Haven't heard anything besides that they're reviewing my application.

Profile:
31 y/o white female, 9 years work experience in journalism
GMAT: 740 (44 Q/47 V/6.0 AWA)
GPA: 3.58 at University of Colorado at Boulder, film studies degree, 4 semesters on Dean's List, honors courses

I'm definitely an unconventional applicant, and I have no idea what's going to happen, but I've heard great things about HBS from my CEO (who went there in the 80s) and a recent graduate who just joined my firm. I will update if I hear anything!

Awesome guide for the HBS interview! Written by current HBS students with real questions from their interviews! Only $35!

Unofficial HBS Interview Guide!

Whereas other products derive from "historical knowledge" of the admissions process and interaction with "recent applicants," our guide bestows first-hand insight, advice and analysis from current HBS students as well as real interview questions from real interviews of real students. Better yet, these questions aren't dated in the least. Because this guide is brand spanking new, all questions come from current students, meaning you'll be just one or, at most, two years removed from their interview experiences. Likewise, the analysis we provide comes not from "recent applicants" but from those who got in, enrolled, and are now immersed in HBS culture. Who better to hold your hand through this difficult and all-too-often nebulous process?

Our guide will help you to navigate these next few weeks with a bit more confidence and a bit less terror. The goal is to provide you with a roadmap to jumpstart the process, eliminate some ambiguity, and earmark some valuable resources for you to leverage.

For just $35, you'll get a 40-page PDF that includes 12 pages of real interview questions from real interviews of real students. Keep in mind we're the only guide to offer question-by-question analysis from anyone, much less from current HBS students! It doesn't take a Harvard MBA to recognize how great a deal this is!
