thanks! a great feeling. although, it's just the first of five (none of which are started - ugh!). harvard actually has rather short essay requirements and more straight-forward questions than many others.

Yeah, I totally understand. My HBS application is submitted as well and it is also the first of five. I'm off to a pretty good start on the other four so hopefully I just have some light editing ahead of me. It does feel great to get that first one in though!uprightcitizen wrote:thanks! a great feeling. although, it's just the first of five (none of which are started - ugh!). harvard actually has rather short essay requirements and more straight-forward questions than many others.

Congrats, Eskimo; it does feel nice. Which other schools are you applying to (if you don't mind me asking)?
I am planning on HBS, Yale, Wharton, Kellogg, and BU. Kind of feels like I have 4 reach schools, which is somewhat scary. Hopefully one of them hits! (Or I at least get into BU...)

HBS, Stanford, Kellogg, Sloan, and Booth. I have no margin of error since they are all really tough schools to get into. I'll just do my best and hope that someone likes me!uprightcitizen wrote:Congrats, Eskimo; it does feel nice. Which other schools are you applying to (if you don't mind me asking)?

I bet you'll be fine! I debated Sloan, but decided on Wharton instead (since I live in Philly it would be awfully convenient). I'm a couple minutes away from submitting the Part 1 Kellogg application... this is way easier than HBS and all their Work Experience questions...

Yeah I submitted my Kellogg part 1 a couple weeks ago. Since all these schools use the applyyourself web portal, it would have been really nice if we could have just inputted the work experience and other stuff just once rather than five times. Oh well, I guess each school would like to think that we're only applying to them! :mrgreen:uprightcitizen wrote:I bet you'll be fine! I'm originally from Chicago and I've got a great group of friends in Boston so I targeted those two areas of the country. Wharton would have been a good fit for me as well since I'm a bit older. I would have loved to have applied to Tuck as well but there's only so much I can ask from my recommenders. As for Stanford... I can dream!

I was thinking the same thing about ApplyYourself... both Kellogg and HBS use it, but ask slightly different versions of the same questions. Way annoying.
Felt the same way about Tuck... but you're right... as it is, it is a lot to ask from recommenders. I didn't realize how extensive the questioning is until my boss showed me what they sent him. Now, I feel bad. I'll feel less bad if I get into one of these schools, though...

Going for the 2nd round. I am a 1L @ HLS so HBS is the only school I will be applying to.
