I still think thats a great accomplishment!

So last year they said they accepted 25% international students. Do you people think that number will rise this year?

yep...true , losing or winning is not that important as wat u learn or more importantly if it answers ''why''...
so, i think it'll click very good...when u look at an event where u lost as an achievement..nice ..

so guys, this waiting game is really terrible! who thinks we will know by next Friday about interviews? The HBS blog said around 15 July, but then they said late July. Dont you think they will let us know early this year due to many intl. applicants and their visa issues?

As far as I know, international according to HBS is holding an international passport. Last year only two were really international.

One from India and one from Canada. Thats really frightening :)

I beleve nationality is one of the important trademarks of the HBS community. However, what is more important is how you are adept at selling yourself to the HBS adcom, through yout essays, recommendation letters, and interviews.

GMAT, nationality, gender, ethnicity, work experience, GPA, and etc are just hard numbers that tell the Admission almost nothing about one's candidacy.

What distinguishes an admission vs a rejection mostly comes from your background, values, fits with the HBS community, and communication skills revealed in the interview.

At this stage, I would expect they have reviewed at least 300-400+ applications. Be patient, and do some other things, do not reply too much on the end result because more than 700 of us will be rejected in the end.
Move on as if you never applied and focus on the job hunting season in our senior years.

Good luck everyone.

I wonder how is that an accomplishment?
To my best knowledge, A defeat can be a learning experience but not an accomplishment to be proud of

We do think alike, but have different point of views.

Anyways,

Well said. I second that.

How many of us think that HBS will stick to the July 15 date for sending interview invites?

I think, last year they sent invites by 28th July. However, I believe last year the final decisions were also notified 2 weeks later.

If I were them, I'd probably still be aiming for a Jul. 15 notification date, but with the sharp increase in applications, I'd be covering my butt by saying "late July" in case I couldn't finish in time.
