Narrowed down to either B or D. Now a matter of choice...went for B. I need expert's input on selecting between the choices like the ones here...
Looking for 780~

I think both in B and in D, the phrase 'by year earlier' is ambigous.Earlier than what?To make a comparison alteast two things are needed.
A & C are akward.
In my opinion E is the right answer.OA?

E is OA

Pls, explain more why "by a year earlier is wrong. "by a year earlier" is wrong because it should be" a year earlier" or" earlier by a year" . But I am not sure.

Pls, comment my freinds. we need discussion not OA. only discussion raise us, not OA.

Please note that in the sentence above -
1)introducing is a "gerund".
2)to introduce is an "infinitive form of verb".

according to english grammar book by wren n martin, both the gerund and the infinitive have the force of a noun & a verb and in many sentences either of them may be used without any special differences in meaning.
For eg. "Giving is better than receiving" is same as "To give is better than to receive".
bcoz of the above mentioned logic Options B n D are same n hence both together cannot be correct.

Also as rightly pointed out by sulabh, "by a year earlier" is ambiguous in B n D.

Hence IMO E.

a classic case where "being" can be correct in GMAT.

Thanks!
