Got 440 in the first GMAT exam,and I was so upset...

Can anyone give me any suggestions and strategy. And during I was taking on the exam, I feel that my brain was all blank. Even I couldn't think any of the method to do the problem. Need help..

I'm guessing you're just 'starting off' in your GMAT journey. Not a problem at all -- welcome to the world of GMAT fun! You need to think about laying out a study plan -- let me suggest you spend some time reading these two links which will really help you think about what you need to do to get where you want to get.

Here's another thought -- I'd suggest you 'forget' about your 440. Not sure whether it was a practice test or a real exam... but either way, it's not really relevant. B-schools will only be looking for your 'best' score, and, let's be frank, it's not going to be coming from a 440!

Thanks for your advices. It was my first real GMAT exam, and I got

Scaled Score Percentile
Quantitative 44 63
Verbal 9 2
Total 440 19

And I must admit that my verbal was totally bad. When I read the English sentences and English paragaph and I truly focus my attention on every words and sentence. Do my best to get the meaning. Moreover, I read a lot of English article everyday. And I can know the what the author mainly talk about. But I think it is still not enough. And when I read first time in the GMAT exam, I could know the meaning, so I read back, and because of nervous. My brain was almost like shut down...

BUT Never give up, I think there is no more difficulties things that can not be done by man, so I will keep moving on. Thanks a again for your advices. I really appreciate.
