Rs. 4850 have been divided among A,B,C such that if their shares be diminished by Rs. 15, Rs. 10 and Rs, 25 respectively, the remainders are in the ratio 3:4:5. Then B's share is???

A] Rs. 1595
B] Rs. 1610
C] Rs. 1626.66
D] Rs. 1600
E] Rs. 1700

Hi,
Shares of A,B,C are (3x+15),(4x+10),(5x+25).
Given that total sum is 4850.
So, (3x+15)+(4x+10)+(5x+25)=4850 => x=400
B's share = 4x+10 = 1610.

Hence, B

I think this Qs can be solved directly through options.
Just Subtract 10 from each & find out which one is divisible by 4, which gets us B as ans.
but before using this..make sure no other option follows the same rule.

Total amount is reduced by (15+10+25)=50
So the remainder is 4850-50 = 4800.
This is in the ratio 3:4:5
So B's ratio in the remainder is 4/12*4800 = 1600
So B's share in the original amount will be = 1600 + 10 = 1610

total amount deducted = 15+10+25 = 50
Thus remaining=4800
ratio: 3:4:5
(total=3+4+5 = 12)
thus for each part, 4800/12 = 400
B has 4 parts -> 1600
we initially deducted 10, thus add 10 ->1610
IMO B
