Just got my ding from Kellogg yesterday for their part time/evening weekend MBA program. I suspect that my academics were too weak for them to consider me so I am going to try and do the GMAT for a fourth time to raise that. Would like to get your thoughts. Let me know if you see any other issues in my profile besides the academics.
GMAT(scores in chronological order): 640, 650, 600 (the downward trend to a 600 was probably an issue too I'm guessing)
GPA(pretty horrendous). Univ of Toronto (99-02)-1.5 GPA, Columbus State Community College (2002-2004)-3.4, The Ohio State University(2004-07)-2.79 (Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering)
Work Experience: ArcelorMittal(9 years)-4 different functional roles (Project Engineer, Reliability Engineer, Maintenance Planner, Quality Engineer)
Career Goals: Transition into sneaker industry by working in a marketing function for a sneaker manufacturer; then utilize the knowledge to start a boutique chain in the Middle East (Dubai, Doha Qatar, etc)
Extracurriculars:
Co-host of a podcast with 39,000 followers on social media (weekly show with over 50K total downloads), led podcast to also achieve 501c3 status (April 2016 to present)
President of a social justice non profit in Chicago - empowering youth to attack issues related to gun violence (Jan 2016 to present)
Previous Extracurriculars:
President of Ohio State University Muslim Student Association: 2005-06 (80 active members, average of about 300-400 attendees per event)
