GMATPrep Verbal - Too Easy???

Hey Everyone,

First of of all, the forums on this website are great! I only found them a few days ago but feel I've already learned a lot about what it takes to "beat the GMAT."

As for myself, I began studying two days ago and have thus far only looked at the GMATPrep software. I just got through with the three sections of Verbal Review Questions and found them to be really easy - in fact, I didn't miss a single question. So for those of you who have practiced with GMATPrep, are these questions significantly easier than those on the real test? I'm planning on buying OG12 today and was wondering if that will provide more representative questions. If not, any recommendations?

I never did the verbal review questions.

After practicing the OG, I was able to obtain a 44V on both of my GMATPrep tests. After studying MGMAT SC book, I got a 47V on the actual test. I also found Kaplan 800 good for really learning verbal and seeing some tough questions, though the OG questions are the best.

Know this -- lots of the OG verbal IS easy if you'll be scoring at a high level, but the problems toward the end of the section are pretty hard. I found myself comfortable with verbal on test day after doing lots of OG and MGMAT SC.

Study how you want/think is best for 1 month or so and then take a GMATPrep; the result will show you how your prep is going.

I was in the same boat when I was studying; I blew through the OG verbal section and barely missed anything. That did worry me a bit, but when I took a practice test, I realized that it wasn't that the verbal was too easy - it was that I was good at it!

So, I agree with the above - you really need to take a practice test to see how you're doing. It's possible that your performance in the OG was a fluke, but I imagine that you're just strong in verbal. Take a practice test to find out.
