The two tests each have a different pool of practice questions. You can take each of them at least twice - many people take them three times without having too many repeat questions. There should be no repeats from the first test to the second.

When you retake with each of the two tests you will get some questions repeated, hopefully just a few, when this happens it is okay to answer correctly, but make sure that you either "work through the problem" (I recommend this) or at least let the clock run for the appropriate time so that you are not getting questions right in like 10 seconds. That will really throw off the simulation. Because of course there are no repeats on test day!

Hi David,

Thanks so much for your reply. I have another silly question. Say if I have less than a minute for the 37th question in Quant section. If I select a random answer choice and start working to solve the problem and run out of time, would that question become unanswered or would the software take the answer choice (which I have not confirmed) as a valid one?

I had a tutoring student who just ran out of time without hitting submit on the GMATPrep and the answer marked was not registered.

I would say this...there is no reason to take the risk. When you have like 10 seconds to go it is too late to do anything about it so just hit confirm!
