IMO E

IMO E

"Like" is required to compare Hungary, a noun, to rest of the Eastern Europe.

Let with D and E. There could be some confusion whether "proportion" is singular or plural. Check the next part: "many are"; clearly, "proportion" is plural here. Hence, "work" is correct. Also, "many are in" is correct.

will go for C

A) incorrect. which cannot refer to women. may of whom would have been correct

B) awkward. in hungry as with europe is improper comparison. women works is incorrect because of subject verb error.

C) In hungry (just) as in much of europe. both sides of the comparion are parallel in form ie uses "in". many of them clearly refer to women.

D) awkward. in hungry as much of europe is not parallel comparison. women works is incorrect.

E) awkward. in hungry like much of Eastern Europe is not parallel comparison

Agree with option C, it is parallel and also supports 'in' Hungary. OA please

Good question. I got confused between "as in" and "like in." While "like in" is wrong, "as in" is correct.
