Ans is B

(a) y< x means that y & can both be +ve or y can be negative and x can be positive.

y=2 and x =3 then LHS = RHS
y=-2 and x=3 then LHS > RHS

so insufficient

(b) we know that out of x and y one is negative and the other positive, this means that LHS will always add up while the RHS will always be less that x. so sufficient
