E out for 2 reasons:

Made "it" no clear referent

and starts a clause...where is the subject.....( subject is assumed to be the subject of previous clause, making illogical sentence)

IMO : D

Why?

Because: Its not a modifier question, note the start, both the statements are clause..so u dont need to have anything to be modified...

D is the only option that complete it logically...

Yes two of the option can be left because of "it"
