The y-intercept of line L is 4. If the slope of L is negative, which of the following could be the x-intercept of L?

I. -1
II. 0
III. 6

I only

II only

III only

I and II

I and III

Answer: III only.

any explanation on this?
Reality is merely an illusion, albeit a very persistent one.

L has a negative slope and we know one point of this line (0;4)
Just draw it, you will see that the x-intercept has to be to the right of 0 0 exclude).

If -1 was the answer, the slope would have to be positive.
