GMATprep Exponent Question

I need help in solving this exponent problem from the GMATprep test.

2^x - 2^(x-2) = 3*(2^13). What is the value of x? The answer is 15, but I am unsure of how to get there. Please help.

2^x(1-1/4)=3*2^13
2^x(3/4)= 3*2^13
2^x=2^15
x=15
