Please can anyone explain the reasoning behind this answer choice

Hi,
Coal Output/ Number of miners doubled.
So, if the number of miners remained same, coal output must have doubled. That is what A says.

why not the ans choice is B as A is more closer to the arguemnt.Please elaborate...

output per miner = total output/total miner e.g 100/10 = 10 ...equation 1
premises - output per miner is now 20.
option A says if total miners are same then total output is double
total output = 20 * 10 = 200 as per equation 1

but in B, if the total output increased that doesn't mean increase in each miner's output..I mean output per miner.
earlier output = 100 ; per miner -> 10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10,10
but now output = 200 but here the break up output per miner may be 20,20,20,20,20,40,30,10,10,10
