Hey everyone!!

I have a question that I'm sure a lot of people can relate to...

I have noticed after practicing with the GMATprep software at least twice a week that questions repeat themselves in the practice exams and as a result I have memorized some of the answers and am afraid that this might have inflated my final score. I am wondering how this would affect my score on the actual GMAT since I know GMATprep is the most accurate predictor of my score on the real GMAT?

Um, the GMATPrep tests are not designed to be taken that much. How many times have you taken them? Did you uninstall and then reinstall, or are you just retaking? Have you taken any other tests?

You also should not be taking two tests a week. You should be focusing most of your time on OG questions, and take a full test maybe every two weeks or once a week if your GMAT is imminent. It is extremely important to review your test results carefully and fully understand the answers before you resume doing questions and then tests.

I'm just retaking them but I alternate between practice test 1 and test 2. These are the only tests I've taken.

I have review the OG questions a least a dozen times but my other problem is that a lot of the questions in the GMATprep are not in the official guide so I have no explanation of the question or I have to post the question on this site to get an explanation.

I think that its still wise to work out the problems even if you have the solution memorized.

Also, take the full 2 minutes so that you don't have extra time for other questions since you will not get extra time on the GMAT...

wo wo whoa. you're reviewed every question in the o.g., twelve times or more? that's insane.

how are you doing this review? are you just banging through the problems one by one, solving them as if they were completely disconnected entities? because if so, that is not the way to precipitate success on the exam.

check out the suggestions here, in which a couple of other posters and i drop some wisdom about how to use the o.g. to prepare more thoroughly. believe me, if you are using the o.g. in the way you should be using it, there is no way you'll have the time to go through it that many times.
