can somebody explain why B is better than C

I received a PM asking for my input on this question. Unfortunately this is not a great question in terms of representing the real GMAT for a few reasons:

(a) you can't actually choose between no one and nobody in this context - both are fine, they are synonyms, so the GMAT will never test this (they have never even noted a preference for one relative to the other)...

(b) I've never seen a GMAT question test an obvious double negative like in this question (i.e. "no one didn't expect"). Maybe the TOEFL or a test for younger students, but not the GMAT...

(c) I have also never seen a GMAT question utilize a contraction ("didn't" rather than "did not")...
