I know the question has been asked many times but...

I am a native English speaker and I am good at Math. I want to take either the GMAT or the GRE in a month and only need to score 600/800.

Which would be the easiest for me? I have heard that GRE math is easier overall, and the verbal is easier if you are a native?

Hi bethanals--

The GRE has traditionally been considered easier than the GMAT - however that was the *old* GRE. EssaySnark doesn't know how the new one compares. Maybe others can offer direct personal insights?

Of course, it's unlikely you'll find someone who's taken both, particularly not since the new GRE has only been around a few months, so this might be an impossible question.

Hi Bethnals,

Yes, GRE vs GMAT is the most common query among the graduates but no issues we are here to help you :)
Coming to your question GMAT and GRE are totally different channels to enter to your masters but when you start comparing both of them in terms of ease then it really becomes a vague one. It all depends on the colleges you are looking to do your MBA or MS, if you are looking for tier 1 colleges then the level of hard work to crack the good score becomes equivalent.

So, do a rough exercise by pointing out your dream college and course but not in terms of ease but in terms of your interest.

I'd imagine that difficulty doesn't matter that much since everything is based on a percentile ranking anyway. If it's hard, it's hard for everyone. If it's easy, it's easy for everyone.

Not speaking from personal experience here, but purely anecdotal: We've had clients who took the (old) GRE and did just fine percentile-wise etc., then took the GMAT and had a very poor showing. Agreed that the percentiles *should* be an equivalent measure between tests but the pool of test-takers for each test is very different, so not sure if that theory holds.

That Stacey Blackman article posted earlier explains the two tests well, she knows more about this stuff than we do.
