When down to two answer choices on a Verbal question, it’s often best to reread and reframe the question before making your final decision. Examinees often report that they “can easily narrow the choices down to two but guess wrong”; this happens in large part because the questions are designed such that three answer choices will share a similar flaw, but the final two will differ for another reason. At the point that you’ve eliminated those three, your basis for comparison will no longer work, and the majority of your short-term memory is clogged with those incorrect answers. Accordingly, you should quickly reframe the question as a new one to determine how to best distinguish between the final two choices.
