Hi All,

I intend to give the Gmat sometime next year. I am 32 and am attempting to start studying after about 8 years.

Needless to say I am completely out of touch with books. Please advice me on the following :

a) Can someone help me with a study plan...?, as I would need to go over the basics.
b) Is 6 nonths of hard work enough to beat the GMAT
c) Please suggest suggest study material.

If you're into self study, then I would start by:

(1) reading through my GMAT Blog, https://beatthegmat.blocked, to get a sense of how to prepare a self study schedule; and
(2) look at the GMAT Resource Wiki, https://www.beatthegmat.com/wiki/ to see a list of recommended resources/books.

6 months may be even too much time to prepare for the GMAT. I usually recommend self studiers 3 months. Any more than that you might start to forget material or start to burn out.

burn out

Ive been studying around 4 hours a day for three weeks and am burning out....mostly because I dont seem to be improving my scores. I am in the same situation as you in terms of being out of touch. I graduated over 5 years ago and am so out of touch with this stuff. Good luck...let me know if you run across something helpful.
