Hey guys since my university does not require the essay score (awa?). Is it possible to take the gmat without the 2 essay parts.
Did someone ever do it? in how much time do the results for the quantitative and the sentence correction come up?

You can skip the essays (just by writing "n/a" in the prompt and hitting "submit", for example), but I wouldn't... You never know when you might want your GMAT score again, and having a big, fat zero on the AWA wouldn't look good.

As for when you get results, right after you finish the test you are asked if you want to cancel your score. Assuming you say "no", your score is calculated and put on the screen almost immediately.

i used the "chineseburned" method and I finished both the awa essays in under 15 mins

the out come was respectable and it really wasn't a pain to do it. I would advise using this method to get a some what decent score than a 0

who knows, what if you decide to apply to another school that requires an awa essay score? you wouldn't want to re-take the test and pay another $250

the thing is I need the overall score of the Gmat send to the school as soon as possible after taking the test...
My test is set for the 9th of april and the deadline for the score submit is the 30 of april. I just have 15 working days...If I do the AWA do you think they will be able to correct in in time?!

You won't get your official score any faster if you don't do the essays; it will take about two or three weeks either way.

You will get your unofficial score immediately after the test, regardless of whether do the essays.

At my university, they told me that I should do the AWA so to get the official results quicker... :? But if you say that doing or not doing the AWA won't change the results time, I'll go ahead and also do the AWA...

Anyhow if I do the exam the 9th of april, after full 3 weeks the 30th of april, the official score should reach the school right? otherways I'm screwed :shock:

Is there any other way to receive the official results quicker? 'Cause I suppose the university won't accept any unofficial score... :?

i may be wrong on this, and it seems although your school confirmed that they will not accept the "unofficial" score, you can still give them the "heads up" sorta speak with your unofficial and let them know the official one is on its way. Especially since they don't "care" about your awa
