Hi,

I took my GMAT yesterday and got a 710(Q:48 (Percentile:83) and V:39(Percentile 87) Overall Percentile:92).

The schools I have shortlisted are Kellog business school,Booth business school and a local shool in consideration of geographical limitations and other personal commitments. I have 8 years work experience (5 years as a sales supervisor(leadership) at a reatil company and 3 years as a decision support analyst in a data/technology firm). I have taken on multiple roles/additional responsibilities and progressed successfully in both my jobs. I am a non native English speaker but a US citizen. I was also curious on what applicant pool I will be placed under if that makes any difference.I am planning to specialize in Marketing or Finance .I was wondering how you would evaluate my chances in gettinng admitted to Kellog/Booth, based on my profile. I have also heard a few people doing their MBA at Kellogs, Chicago but are based elsewhere.

I am also looking in to top MBA online programs from reputed business schools. Can u please suggest a few?

Please advice.

Dear CR,

Congratulations on your GMAT score! There are many great programs in the Chicago area, so you should have plenty of options to consider. I strongly suggest you visit these campuses to get a firsthand look at the programs and what they have to offer. Based on the limited information you posted, you have the foundation for a competitive application to any of the schools. It will be how well you put your application together that will determine whether or not you receive an offer of admission. Your essays, recommendations, and interviews are critical and you want to submit a package that makes a compelling case for a seat in the class.

As for online options, I have to say that I'm not a fan of this method of delivery. The main reason being that there is an advantage to classroom discussion and building a network amongst your peers. However, it is a growing market and becoming more acceptable to many employers out there. I would encourage you to research those as well and think about what you want from your MBA experience beyond the education. Then you will be able to determine what type of program might be the best fit for you and your career goals.
