Hi,

Thanks for your post. It's important to keep in mind the three areas the adcom is reviewing in order to assess an applicants' candidacy 1. Academics (including undergrad, GMAT and other other graduate degrees) 2. Work experience - career trajectory as compared to peers 3. Extracurricular activities - including both personal interests and community service

It is quite common for an application to be deficient or lacking in an area. In other words, it's rare for someone to be perfectly rounded in all 3. In your case you seem to have a solid career trajectory to date at a well known organization. Most adcom members are familiar with Tata and will have an understanding of your role. However, you are indeed lacking in extracurricular activities (since college), and your GMAT score is considered to be low compared to your peers. This means you have to really shine in your professional career to overcome the weaker areas.

I do think it's wise to expand on your activities and in particular look for leadership opportunities. I also strongly encourage you to retake the GMAT (you've done a great job already improving from your first attempt) and aim to score at least 700+. This may mean pushing back and applying for round 2, but I believe that with improvement in these two areas you will be a stronger candidate.

Best,

Stacey

Hi,

Thanks for your post. You've put together a robust list of schools, many of which are similar in rank and in curriculum. I suggest that you choose a couple of parameters to help you narrow down your list. Perhaps in addition to rank you also look at curriculum, employment opportunities (do the employers you are interested in recruit at the school), as well as location and class size. This should help you narrow down your list.

Best,

Stacey
