I am preparing to study for the GMAT and I have been researching a number of self-study Resources. From my research I think I am planning to purchase the following:

1)Fourth Ed. - The 8 Manhattan GMAT Strategy Guides
2)The Official Guide for GMAT Review, 12th Edition
3)The Delta Course

Will this be sufficient? Are all 8 MGMAT SG very good in all subject areas or are some of the SG subpar and there are better alternatives?

Is there any other resources that are well worth the investment?

I can't speak for the third choice, but I think choices 1 and 2 are fantastic to say the least. I just started studying about a month ago and am using all the Manhattan Guides plus the OG and supplements (12th edition). I think you'll do great with those. I was incredibly rusty on some of the GMAT concepts and was not that strong in math but now I feel like I can kill some of the questions that appeared tough. Best of luck!

OG12 + supplements are a MUST have!

You'll also need to downloand GMAT Prep 1 and 2 from mba.com

Regarding Manhattan GMAT: i have all the quant books and the SC book and they are fantastic. I didn't buy CR and RC coz I am lawyer and find those topics easy. So to answer your question, buy the books that address your weak areas. But based on anecdotal evidence, the best Manhattan GMAT books are Sentence Correction, Number properties (A MUST HAVE), Equations, Inequalities, & VICs, and Word Translations. But again, the books you buy should be based on your needs. Of course, if money is no object then buy them all.

You'll also need a lot of discipline.

I also recommend adding either Kaplan Premier or The Princeton Review's Cracking The GMAT. These books provide each provide a nice overview of the test.

Just wanted to also plug the GMAT Resources library here at BTG. Some useful links to aide your prep there as well.

For CR I felt the Powerscore GMAT CR BIBLE(there's an LSAT one but get the GMAT one) was better than the MGMAT one. Based on personal experience and the reviews I have read I would recommend this for CR. For the rest of the areas MGMAT will serve you very well!
