GMAT QUESTION - Need a lot of response or advice

If this post is in the wrong place, I'm sorry!

I have failed the GMAT twice in three years. And, I was wondering if an MBA degree is for me. I would like to get an MBA but the GMAT is standing between me and an MBA degree. Both times I took the test, I failed miserably, to the point that i was crying. I have never failed a test so bad in my life.

So, guys I am thinking of taking it for the last time. i work for the school i'll be applying for and they will be paying pretty much everything. This is why i can't give. Please, what are your advice for me?

If the school is willing to pay for the complete education and it is a goal you want to achieve I always say try again! You need to evaluate why you did poorly the first two times - did you not study enough, did you not study the right material, did you need a tutor to guide you through the process? If business school is going to be free I would highly recommend investing in a good course or tutor to help you.

My advice is to study for knowledge, technique and confidence.

Knowledge means to identify the content that is tested on the exam and understand it from the most basic level and to develop a consistent approach to those types of questions.

Technique means to identify the time saving strategies that will also help you to stay on track and avoid common errors and mistakes due to rushing.

the third element of confidence is often the most important element to test taking - you need to take this test with a positive attitude and know your strengths and limitations so you can take the test in the way that will benefit your score the most.

I think a tutor would be great. i tried studying by myself and it didn't work both times.

It would be helpful , if you can post resources you used, tests you gave and individual breakups, accuracy of different Q type.

Yeah JamesBrown. Don't give up now...
Instead, take some time and post a detailed breakup of preparation strategies you used, materials that you went through, test scores, areas of strengths and weaknesses.

Also, private tutoring is not a bad option. But if you are able to perform a SWOT analysis yourself, then forums and online help should be sufficient.

I can;t really remember how man test I took but i studied using the Kaplan Quant and Verbal book. I also took the MGMAT free CAT 1 - i got a 510. That was the only time i scored over 500. The other times I scored like 300-350. I used the MGMAT 5 Set book including the The Official. GMAT books.

Where do I go from where. I would like to take it again but I don't want use the same strategy. What are the best strategy?
