Statement 1 does not give any useful information thats easy

Statement 2 gives us the relationship between each letter and the one above and to the left of it. If you compute all the equation you can in the end find the value of Z in terms of Q. So its sufficient to ans the question.

Stmt 1 - does not give info about other letters

Stmt 2 - One can calculate values of all letters e.g

r = q+q = 2q
s = r+q = 2q+q = 3q.. so on and so forth. This way we can know what's the value of z

Ans should be B
