Both A & B alone are insufficient. If taken together, the question states that 1/y and 1/3 have a common denominator of 6. This is still insufficient, for y can be either 2 or 6. Thus E.mike22629 wrote:In the fraction x/y, where x and y are positive integers, what is the value of y?
