What is the number of members of club X who are at least 35 yrs of age?
1) Exactly 3/4 of members of the club X are under 25 years of age
2) 64 Women in club X constitute 40% of the club's membership
The right answer is C. But I don't understand how the information in stateement II helps in getting the right answer? I am missing something obvious here. Can someone please explain? Many thanks for your help.

I would suspect that the correct number in stmt 1 is 35 and not 25. But anyway, here's why stmt 2 is relevant to solving the problem:
Since 40% of club members = 64, this means that you can find out the total number of club members, which will be 160.
Now you can use stmt 1, which I suppose tells us that 3/4 of club members are under 35. This means that the other 1/4 are over 35, giving us a total of 1/4*160 = 40 members over 35.
So only taken together will the two stmts make any sense.

Agree if C is the OA than stmt. 1 should have 35DanaJ wrote:I would suspect that the correct number in stmt 1 is 35 and not 25. But anyway, here's why stmt 2 is relevant to solving the problem:
