The y-intercept of a line l is 4. If the slope of l is negative, which of the following could be the x-intercept of l?

1) -1
2) 0
3) 6

A) I only
B) II only
C) III Only
D) I and II
E) I and III

Right answer is C.

yes its C.

slope of the line is y=-mx +4

from the equation for y=0;x can only have +ve value except 0.

y = mx+c

x=0, -4=c

y=0, 0 = mx - 4
and m<0 so -(mx + 4) = 0
so x = -4/m

It will be always negative
