What confuses you?

That Vs. Those?
So...that usage?

That is used to refer singular number. So, when comparing single object, for example, My pencil is longer than THAT of his (pencil). While, My pencils are longer than THOSE of his (pencils).

So....that is idiom that is used in cause-effect relation always.
"It rained SO heavily THAT entire village is under water." conveys a meaning that because it rained heavily, the village is under water.

"He worked SO hard on a project THAT he was promoted as technical lead after the release was made."
