the number of chips is singular...

A,C out-Lacks SVA...it should be rises & falls.

B-for attracting is wrong..

E-it looks like surrounding temp..can be served as thermometer...

D is the best option

my answer is D because the "it" is referring to the singular noun - the number of chips

the idiom is use+to so only D&E
I choose D because "it" refer to the number correctly
