what is wrong with lower than? Why is less than better there?

I think you posted this question twice....

Just copy pasting the same here too:

IMO

A = correct
B = it...cannot refer to costs.
C = we need to comparing rising....so were is not usage.
D = lower = adjective...cannot modify rose.(verb)
E = lower = adjective...cannot modify rose.(verb)..also were wrong...as in C

Greater than or less than is used to indicate comparison signal according to the Manhattan SC guide . SO I think lesser than is more suited than lower than .
