Statement I tells you that Distance=72 x time
Statement II tells you that Distance= 80 x (time-1)
Both are insufficient on their own because you have two variables (D and t) and one equation.
Putting I and II together you get 72 x time = 80 x (time-1)
Now you can solve for t and consequently for D also.
Answer is C.
