I guess after 7 years the person who original posted this is not coming back to confirm the answer!
Since it was brought back up, I thought would confirm the OA. The OA is A.
The other 4 choices all contain misplaced modifiers. The modifier "Called proton-induced X-ray emission" should follow the word that it is modifying, "technique."
