From the question

Total Amount Received = nx, n - number of people, x - Admission Fee

From (1)
(x-0.75)(n+100) = nx

From (2)
(x+1.5)(n-100) = nx

Solving them both would give you n. Therefore C is the correct answer.

From (1)
(x-0.75)(n+100) = nx

From (2)
(x+1.5)(n-100) = nx


When you multiply one out you get

1. nx + 100x - .75n + 100(.75) = nx
Subtract nx from both sides
3. 100x - .75n + 100(.75) = 0

Similarly for 2.
4. -100x + 1.5n - 100(1.5) = 0

Add resulting equations 3 & 4.


You get 0.75n + 100(.75 -1.5) = 0
.75n = .75 (100)
n = 100
