The ans should be E. To be honest I too first just jumped to C. But then I read ur ans and started thinking.
All we know is that the two numbers are less than 1. If both are 0, or both are negative or both are really small fractions, e.g 1/8 + 1/9 then yes the ans is they are less than 1
But they could also be 0.89 + 0.11 = 1.
I feel these are some easy questions with a trap laid out. We need to make sure evaluate all posibilities.
