gmat prep confusion

just took the gmat prep test and scored 680 but i got like 16 wrong in quant and 13 wrong in verbal - my quant score was 47 and verbal 35

in my last test i got fewer incorrect and ended up with only 610, can some one please resolve this paradox

Your score depends not only on the number of problems you got wrong but also on their difficulty level. The other day I scored Q50 with like 11 mistakes. GMAT penalizes you worse for mistakes in easy problems than in the hard ones
