Hi,

My name is Christian Castillo, it is a pleasure to be part of this community. I recently took the GMAT Prep practice without any preparation because I was told it would be good to gauge my ability and design a study plan around my weak areas. I scored a 540 (Q35 V28 IR3). I have given myself three months to prepare and can devote as much time as necessary to practicing. I'm hoping for a 700+, I've read other people achieving this so I know it's not a pipe dream. I just purchased the recent OG guides and the MGMAT 10 book strategy guide set. Any guidance on helping me beat the gmat will be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for taking the time to read my post.

Hey Christian,

540 is a great score for someone just starting to prep. In fact, almost half of all test-takers do not exceed 540 (after fully preparing).

Since you already have the MGMAT books, you might consider signing up for Beat The GMAT's free 60-Day Study Guide (https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/gmat-guide).

Hi Christian,

It's good that you planned ahead and have given yourself enough time to prepare. Based on a 3-month timeline, are you planning to apply to school sometime during the winter or are you just planning on focusing on the GMAT now and applying to school sometime in the future?
