GMAT Math vs. GRE Math...brief question

Hi,

I registered for both the GMAT and GRE. There is just one day between the two test dates (due to scheduling difficulties).

So, the thing is that one uni I am going to apply to accepts both the GMAT (total score) AND the GRE (just the Quant part counts). In order to be considered, I need to score at least 650 (GMAT) or 680 (GRE in the Quant section). I assume that it is way easier to me, as a non-native speaker, to do better at the GRE Quant. I am aiming for 750.

I already recognised the main difference in the format / question types, but my question is whether there are other math topics than in the GMAT? Also, is it reasonable to assume, GRE math is easier than GMAT math? Is the GRE test also CAT?

The GMAT and GRE have basically the same math content. you have already seen the difference between the quant comp adn the Data sufficiency. you won't have to do any different studying and right now, yes the GRE math is a little easier, there are fewer word problems and in general the concepts are more straightforward.

hi Peter, I am hesitating to comment after tpr-becky BUT my intention is to share my knowledge of GRE

BTW here's the link you can register with (will cost you 10 bucks to buy question banks and CATs) https://www.mygretutor.com/ - and YES GRE is CAT, i.e. computer adaptive test. Unlike GMAC, ETS has admitted the fact its CAT is heavily scored toward the first 10-15 questions! Moreover, nowadays GRE becomes tougher as more and more students decide to go for GRE after prepping for GMAT.

In the link above, if you manage to score around 700 in Math, you will get 750+ in real exam, as the group stats and percentile is adjusted to the course participants' stats (the group is very studious)
