GMAT in 2 days!

by teemu » Thu Aug 14, 2008 12:12 pm
Hey guys! I'm taking the GMAT on Saturday and ready to get it over with. Any final tips on staying cool during the test? This is my first attempt and I don't want to freeze up once I get in the testing center. Thanks!

Get good rest. Think of it as just another cat - one like the many others you've taken during your studies. Don't drink a lot of water otherwise you may have to pee mid-test. During the break between sections, exercise to relax your mind and get your blood flowing (jumping jacks, situps, pushups, running in place, etc).

One key that I failed to implement is to recognize the difference between going in calm & confident and staying that way. I completely agree with getting rest and going in with the right mindset. But stay cognizant of your mindset throughout the test. If you begin a section with a question that you aren't familiar with, do not let yourself get riled up. Find a logical way to narrow down the answers, then guess and move on! I let a few early foreign questions on Quant throw off the remainder of that section, don't let that happen to you! You'll do great, make sure to let us know how it went.
