Each Test Taker will vary in how long he/she needs to study for the GMAT. Since your goal is a 700+, then you have to ask yourself what you're willing to do to achieve that score (since 90% of the people can't or won't do what it takes). Based on your post, you're clearly unhappy with your first result. What were your scores (please include all the info)?

It is possible to make significant strides in a short period of time, but you'll have to adjust your tactics. The GMAT tests you in ways that traditional schooling does not (and provides you with hints, shortcuts and options that a traditional test does not, so you have to train properly to take advantage of all these options).

The next question is what's more important: taking the GMAT in 1 month or getting a 700+? You might not be able to do both. If your self-studying hasn't worked, then you'll need to work with a professional. I'm obviously partial to the Empowergmat program, so I suggest that you give it a look and a test-drive (and see if you can make the 1-Month Study Plan fit your schedule). Barring that, something has to change in your studies if you want that big score.
