GMAT for PHD program

by fangtray » Sun Apr 22, 2012 4:15 pm
Does anybody have any experience with taking the GMAT for a business PhD program? I have some questions I would like to help. Does BTG have any information on this?

For me, I recently took the GMAT and got a 640. I already got a scholarship for an MBA program that I will be attending this fall. However, after recent developments, I may go after a PhD instead, and a 640 just won't cut it. I will need to take the GMAT again I believe. Any PhD's here? or PhD students?

thanks,

ray

I am currently studying for the GMAT and plan to apply for PhD programs this fall.

If you want to get into a very good PhD program, the average GMAT score is 700. Why would you like to pursue a PhD? A PhD prepares you for a career in academia. Make sure that this is your goal.
Also, I strongly recommend that you get some research experience and perhaps submit a paper to a conference and/or publish a paper. PhD programs look for candidates who have a high aptitude for rigorous research.

Let me know how I can provide you with further advice on PhD programs.
