I saw reviews on it in another forum (gmatclub.com), and surprisingly, people HATED it. Major bummer. Would have been nice to have more official materials to work with, but I am going to skip this one.

get the kaplan gmat quiz bank instead of the gmat focus

i wouldn't buy the gmat focus (read some bad reviews). but if you are looking for an online bank of test questions, buy the kaplan quiz bank. even though the questions from kaplan are not official questions, the quiz bank helps your prepare bc by you can identify your strenghts/weaknesses, analyze the difficulty level of each question you've completed and the program charts it, it records your history (how many questions you've done, the type of questions you've done, the percentage of questions you are getting right/wrong, etc). i've been using it for almost 2 weeks and it's helped me. only downside is its $199, but i think its worth it.

here is the link for their demo - having used the test bank already, i can say its pretty acurate to how its presented in this demo. and if you are wondering about reproduced questions from other kaplan books - i have a kaplan cd and about 3 books from kaplan and i don't see much overlap in the questions.

the big issue with gmat focus is the hefty price tag (it's $30 for only 24 questions, or, alternatively, $75 for three sets of 24 questions each).

if the money is not so much of an issue, though, then it's worth your while at least to think about gmat focus, because it's an official product.

there are new-ish types of problems, and new-ish areas of emphasis, in gmat focus that make it at least worth checking out; it may even serve as a bellwether of subject areas that are gaining importance in the official CAT question pool.

i can understand why people might hate it, but that's not necessarily a reason to ignore it completely, especially if you've exhausted the o.g.'s and are starved for official practice problems.
