the big issue with gmat focus is the hefty price tag (it's $30 for only 24 questions, or, alternatively, $75 for three sets of 24 questions each).
if the money is not so much of an issue, though, then it's worth your while at least to think about gmat focus, because it's an official product.
there are new-ish types of problems, and new-ish areas of emphasis, in gmat focus that make it at least worth checking out; it may even serve as a bellwether of subject areas that are gaining importance in the official CAT question pool.
i can understand why people might hate it, but that's not necessarily a reason to ignore it completely, especially if you've exhausted the o.g.'s and are starved for official practice problems.
