If x^3y^4 = 5000, is y = 5?
1) y is a positive integer
2) x is an integer.

I was not able to simplify the exponents to get the value. Can someone please point out how to attack such problems.

You don't have to leys put 5 for y
x^3*5^3=5000 x^3=8
if we can find x^3=8 thand y can be -5 or 5
(1) NS itself
(2) If X is integer x can be only 2 but y might be 5 or -5
using together we get our answer
