Devising a plan on how you gonna attack the exam is certainly important. whatever those people say are absolutely correct. I highly recommend you to follow those guidelines. To add, you must attempt every question and must not miss out just because you ran out of time because the penalty of not attempting a question is very severe than getting it incorrect. Try to give little bit more time while attempting initial questions, say 10-15 questions, so that you get a solid start. Do not guess randomly. Always make an educated guess. You will almost always strike out at least two choices out of five for each question with an educated guess.

In next 3 weeks, you should take at most 4-5 full-length CATs including the two GMAT preps in a simulated environment as if you are taking the actual exam.

From my experience... don't play with the CAT... it will scratch you.

No, the first 10 questions are not weighted more. If you get the first 10 right and burn through a bunch of time... you probably won't keep up the pace of getting them right like you did early on b/c you will have less time. Also, you might end up guessing on several late ones to make up time which isn't a good thing unless you are good at educated guesses. Then the score gets lower. You don't need 4 or 5 CATS in the final weeks... you actually shouldnt even take a cat days before since it might burn you out before the real thing. If you are scoring around 700, you will do so on the real thing as long as you don't get anxious about it (or go on a caffeine binge like me then crash on the final section of the exam)
